付向東,1957年11月7日出生,畢業(yè)于凱西保留地(凱斯西儲)大學,西湖大學RNA生物學與再生醫(yī)學講席教授。曾獲Searle Scholar(1994)、白血病 and Lymphoma Society Scholar(1997)、武漢大學杰出校友(2003)、Ray Wu Society特別貢獻獎(2016)和柏林墻2020年度創(chuàng)新科學突破獎(2020)。2010年入選美國科學促進會成員(美國藝術(shù)與科學院 Fellow)。2020年7月加利福尼亞大學付向東教授實名舉報中科院學者楊輝學術(shù)抄襲,楊輝所在單位已成立調(diào)查組。付向東實驗室將繼續(xù)關(guān)注核糖核酸生物學及神經(jīng)再生領(lǐng)域,致力于發(fā)育和疾病中RNA調(diào)節(jié)機制的探索,通過分子生物學、分子遺傳學、生物化學,基因組學,動物行為學、電生理學等多種實驗手段對疾病機理與干預(yù)展開研究。

1977年-1982年武大病毒系,本科。

1982年畢業(yè)于武漢大學病毒學學系。

1983年通過中美生物化學聯(lián)合招生(CUSBEA)計劃留學美國凱斯西儲大學,并于1988年獲得生物化學博士學位。

1988年-1992年 Harvard University,博后。

1992年獲哈佛大學分子生物學博士后。
